Below is my point of view of what Chinese New Year is all about this year:
1. Got Woken up by the Lion Dance.
The lion dance just wake people up like an obnoxious friend singing "tralalala" when you're trying to sleep. FYI, you're not supposed to wake people up in the first day of CNY. Lion Dance, you are so dead!
But then I still remain on bed for another 2 hours or so.
2. Stay at Home Doing Nothing
In case there are no invitations of any open house OR it's just that we're lazy, we just stayed at home being useless people. Someone stayed on his phone, others watch the Chinese TV series, etc.
This often continue for about 3 hours, or so.
3. Posting on Social Media
I don't do CNY post often on social media because I'm lazy. I only do it occasionally.
Most of the people around me likes to do the OOTD post, especially the girls. Then for some reason, their post get around 200 to 300 likes in two days time. How envy I was.
Plus, I can really imagine how the people update their story when eating Yu Sheng (Raw Fish Salad, often served as appetizer).
4.Dubok (Gamble)
I felt kind of sorry for the Malays who's coming for the open house. When their Chinese friends were there gambling, they can only stay aside playing PUBG.
This year, I gambled for the first time and guess what, I lost $5. At that moment, I knew that gambling is just not my thing. I might as well invest my money on the my dear friend who's gambling.
5. Having Meals at Open House
This was one of my favorite things to do at the open house, but then I will have less time to play with friends if I spend more time eating, so I decided to eat less.
But I totally can't resist myself from New Year biscuits and snacks. I hope the house owner will still invite me to their house in the near future.
6. Watch Movie
When you go to open house, there will probably be couch potato staying in front of TV for movies. Yes, they're there just for movies.
7. Car Pooling
I enjoyed car pooling with friends. We can chit chat all way long to an open house. It is also more friendly to the environment.
8. Doing Holiday Homework
Some teachers are really witted-minded, Chinese New Year are for families to reunion. If got homework, where got syok?!Teachers, please be understanding, 알았지?
